East Kent growers was formed in October 2023 by husband and wife team Paul and Michelle Vesey-Wells, after the closure of Walmestone Growers. All produce is grown spray free and Paul and Michelle hope to continue growing organically as Walmestone Growers was once they have secured Walmestone Nursery. We are quite unique in this part of Kent as we are a small site (8 acres) but we plan to grow a wide range of crops including Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Peppers, Herbs, Beans, Courgettes, Squash, Lettuce, Salad Leaves, Kale, Leeks and Carrots. All the crops grown under glass and polythene will be kept clean of pests using Biological Control. There will be no insecticides or herbicides used, relying on ground cover fabric and hard work to control the weeds. Fertility of the soil is maintained using PAS 100 compost and organic chicken manure.
